When we think about London and fashion, Burberry is definitely a name that comes to mind!

And, this year, Christopher Bailey, CEO of Burberry Prorsum, look no further than his country to find inspiration for Burberry's fall/winter 2015 collection.

The collection was an ideal reflection of Britain's multiculturalism, and folk crafts, including quilting, whip-stitching, embroidery, and crochet detailing. The unconventional pairing of complex and somewhat eastern-inspired patterns, gave the collection a free spirited and hippie vibe which represents Christopher Bailey's effort in revamping Burberry's classic image which was conventionally primarily directed towards an older audience. A retro nuance was evident in the pieces which were given a sophisticated twist by the elaborate hand-crafted finishes.

Erdem was definitely another label blowing the minds of spectators at London Fashion Week AW 2015 with his textile mastery, and complex fabrics which were skillfully transformed into elegant and yet surprisingly wearable pieces.

Inspired by his fictional muse, Erdem Moralioglu deconstructed his elaborate textiles adorned with lavish jacquard patterns and rich colors into contemporary pieces matched with riding boots reflecting his muse's distressed character. Erdem brings this neurotic young heroin to life with his genius craftsmanship and the juxtaposition of a sense of luxury and romanticism with modern edginess.

Topshop, another influential British brand, also took a patriotic approach for the fall/winter 2015 collection. "Posh British school girl meets Scottish highlands" is how Emma Townsend, Topshop's head of womenswear design, describes the theme of the new collection. Texture was a big element this season in Topshop's collection compared to pattern as fur, feathers, corduroy, vinyl, leather, silk, and lace flooded the runway in different shades.

 This "posh" girl dresses in casual yet sophisticated pieces with a vintage undertone mirrored in the 60s-inspired pumps or the 70s-inspired tight mini dresses, and spends her days in the British countrysides with her vinyl trench coat and hunting boots. She is definitely a party-girl at nights looking fabulous at night clubs with her mini skirts, fur coats, and ostrich tops.

Overall, maintaining the individuality and core image, while focusing on originality and innovativeness seemed to be the essential commitment of these brands for their fall/ winter 2015 collections.
