Lisbon Fashion Week

Lisbon Fashion Week is the oldest independent European Fashion Week founded in 1991. It is the most significant fashion event in Portugal, which takes place twice annually right after Paris Fashion Week. This three-day event attracts thousands of buyers, spectators, and media from all around the world to watch the collections of talented Portuguese and international designers.

This year, "Legacy" was the theme of the 43rd season of the MODALISBOA, Lisbon's fashion week which took place from October 10th till 13th.

Here are the highlights from the event:

Day 1

The first day was all about young emerging Portuguese talents which started with a collective show called "The New Blood".

The designs were minimalistic and laid-back with a touch of sportiness. The focus was mainly on texture compared to colors and patterns.

Day 2

Award-winning Warsaw-based designer, MICHA£ SZULC, presented a perfectly constructed collection focusing on functionality. The soft colors and modern silhouettes created minimalistic yet sophisticated looks.

Ricardo Andrez, was another designer, who exhibited his collection the second day. The athletic trend was the inspiration behind his designs.

Philipe Faisca, another Portuguese talent, created paradoxical looks by dressing the models with seductive and lingerie-looking outfits while covering their hairs and faces. Considering the emergence of the new market for luxury clothing in the Middle East, it is appropriate to include such collection in Lisbon Fashion Week.

The colorful fabrics adorened with traditional and eastern-inspired embroideries of Christophe Sauvat S/S 2015 collection, transformed the runway into a visionary feast.

The innovative designs, high-quality fabrics, and perfectly-balanced style of Carlos Gil's collection made him the winner of the second day. The daring lines and experimental silhouettes, and soft rosy hues created feminine modern looks.

And finally, the Brazilian swimwear label, Cia Maritima, ended the second day with their stunning collection filled with eye-popping colors and patterns.
