2015 Resort Collection Trend Review: Part 2-Colors

Resort collections are out, and it is time to pass the verdict!

To set their brand apart form one other, designers focus on innovation and theatricality for their season-specific collections. However, when it comes to resort, designers shift their attention to more moneymaking pieces that appeals to the general public regardless of the climate.

Presented by designers from May to July, the “pre-collections” are perfect indicators of what is popular all year around, and thus it is the best place to investigate to unravel next year trends.

Here is a glimpse to 2015 color trends:

Judging from the collections, white seems to be the new black. Head to toe white looks were recurrent on the runway. This color trend is a perfect detox for our closets from all the flashy colors of spring and summer. This calming shade also tends to convey a sense of elegance and sophistication.

This, however, does not mean we can’t explore with bold colors for the coming year!

Bold color combinations were another big color theme in 2015 resort collections. Bright reds contrasted with flashy shades of blue were frequent, along with vibrant color blockings, and colorful patterns.

Also spotted on numerous resort 2015 runways were soft hues of pale pink, a theme making fashionistas re-evaluate their aversion to this girly shade. From runways to streets, pink is establishing its way into our wardrobe. This shade is great to add a dash of femininity to minimalistic and sporty pieces.

The 70s fashion is also making a comeback, and in line with the retro trend, we are finding metallic to be another favorite color choice. Not just reserved for Christmas parties, metallic and glittery shades are perfect to add some disco glam to our outfits. Luxurious gold, futuristic silver, and lustrous blue were the popular metallic shades of 2015 collections.
